    Fostering Diversity IN THe CLASSROOM
    by Anders Templeton
5I chose Diversity because I wanted to discover ways to include students of all backgrounds in the classroom environment. I feel the concept of diversity often stops at skin color and culture, however, diversity encompasses a large range of students, including those with different genders, families, sexualities, multiple races, learning styles, and special needs and abilities. This wiki serves as a guide of resources and curriculum ideas to teach students equality and create a truly diverse classroom.

    FACT #5:
And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson has been the nation’s top banned book for 5 consecutive years, 2006-2010. It is a sweet short story about two gay penguins who love each other. What does this say about our current education system? Are we really discouraging our children from the most harmful things out there?
    CHOOSE JUST ONE?
All of my references focus on a different subject or target audience. But if I had to choose just one for you to check out, i feel the most helpful would be reference number 8, the Ready, Set, Respect! Toolkit. It is a manual that helps teachers teach students of all ages to respect diversity in all shapes and sizes. This is a free PDF guide. Check out the link and info down below!
